Does it show up on your 2023 return? Where? Each year is separate. You probably have to get it back from the IRS. How did you pay it? The IRS should notice the overpayment and send it back to you. You need to log into your IRS account and see what they did with it.

@dejaboyd111 Also be aware that there is a screen soon after the military W-2 entry that asks something like "Does your W-2 have any of these uncommon situations?" and has about 10-11 check boxes. You have to check the box there (for a second time) that you are Active Duty. I know you were also asked to indicate Active Duty in the My Info section. But it also asks again after the W-2. I know that seems redundant to have to indicate it twice..

Thank you so much. That makes sense. I will probably call them or submit new application in Dec-2025 to confirm the qualification. And since I will get 1095-A for 2025 in Jan-2026, I will be good going forward. And yes, the note I saw about checking IRS is on the marketplace in the section that allows to file extension of tax credit.

Another post of mine may help you with determining what is best for you with your employer.
You may have some state credits or deductions that you no longer qualify for or may you changed jobs or even typed in the wrong amount for tax withheld. There are many factors.
You can review the IRS website on deductions and credits. If any apply, go back through the Deductions and Credits section of TurboTax.

Yes, that is possible. @rttweiler You could have empty S-Corp forms in your return. If you are using the desktop, click on Forms to see all the forms in your return. You can delete any erroneous forms from there.
If you are using TurboTax Online, use the Delete A Form instructions below to see a list of all the forms in your return. You can also print or preview a PDF copy of your return to see all of the forms as full pages.

It is probably from the Qualified Dividends and Capital Gain Tax Worksheet. It does not get filed with your return. See this FAQ https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/forms/help/form-1040-line-11-amount-is-less-than-standard-irs-tax-table/00/25752 In the online version you need to save your return as a pdf file and include all worksheets to see it. For the Desktop version you can switch to Forms Mode and open the worksheet to see it. Click Forms in the upper right (upper left for Mac) and look through the list and open the Qualified Dividends and Capital Gain Tax Worksheet. And you will need to use this IRS worksheet on page 15. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040tt.pdf

No for security reasons. You did not filed 2025(due 4/15/2026) you filed 2024.
next year just use this account
Turbotax only supports the current year and the prior 3 years so you could not open your xxxx.tax2020 file.
in addition, TurboTax deletes all items older than 7 years just like the iRS.
so you should always save a PDF of a return to your computer, and because computers do fail, a second PDF on some other store media. Or even print out a copy.

I am an independent contractor and receive 1099-NECs companies for commissions I earn. Both Business and Personal sections allow for 1099-NECs to be entered. I've input my 1099s in the business section however I see that it is also can be entered into the personal section. If I have already put the income in the business section, do I mark no in the personal section or leave blank?
