Line 18 of the foreign tax credit form (Form 1116) is equal to your total taxable income for 2024 - Line 15 of Form 1040.   @Benoit2
where on the 1040 do you put u want to purchase a saving bond
Did you file the original one?
you shouldn't need to because a voided 1095-A has no relevant data that would affect your taxes.
Can I get an expert review of a 2023 return and expert help filing an abatement and/or non-collectible status?
I have the desktop version and I am still unable to find the Worksheet for Line 18 of Form 1116 (Worldwide Qualified Dividends and Capital Gains). Any more insight?   Thanks

I open TurboTax 2023 or 2024, then select amend return then I open the 2023 tax return. Neither of them calculate the correct amount I owe the for federal. As a matter of fact they not only don’t take into account my refund I was paid but they actually calculate that the Fed’s owe me money. It is a software glitch.

Your Section 1256 Contracts and Straddles are reported on Form 6781. To access Form 6781 in TurboTax (Desktop or Online) type "Form 6781" into Search.  Next, click on "Jump to form 6781".  This will take you to the screen with "Any Straddles or Section 1256 Contracts?"  Answer Yes, and continue to complete Form 6781.     Before reporting you Section 1256 Contracts and Straddles, I recommend (as does the program) you review IRS Form 6781 Instructions.  I also recommend you review IRS Publication 550 - Investment Income and Expenses for the special rules and elections that apply to Section 1256 Contracts and Straddles.   Read more on this post by Expert DavidD66.

You can make changes to this if you are using the desktop program directly on the form.  Not in the online program.   But you should take a look at the math that you've entered and be very careful about what you're putting in those columns.  You would think that the IRS would be asking for the four quarters entered one at a time and added together but that is not what they have asked for at all.  Read it carefully and make sure that your math adds up.   @mbliss1

Your federal AGI only includes $6 in interest.   $31,339 was not included in your federal AGI.   Of the amount not included in Federal AGI, $16,762 was added back to Michigan AGI.   There is a worksheet in the Instructions for Schedule 1 that shows how the amount on Line 28 is calculated.  It is on page 17 of the link above.      The maximum deduction on Line 28 is $28,548 less the amount of your Retirement & Pension Subtraction on Schedule 1, Line 27, which is $15,681.    $28,548 - $15,681 = $12,867 <<  That is your maximum deduction allowed on Line 28 of Schedule 1.

The date and account information was correct, the federal return was withdrawn correctly. The issue here is that Turbotax told me the Oregon return would be paid and it wasn't, and the only notification I got is that the return was filed successfully. My payment is now late, I have an penalty, and it's 100% Turbo tax's fault for telling me it would be direct debited! Oregon doesn't accept bank information for debit payments.
