I don't think TT allows activation of s/w older than 3 years so 2022 may be the furthest you may be able to go back with any version

In the File section of the TurboTax program on Step 2 you were shown the amount of state taxes owed and the options for how to pay the state taxes. What option have you chosen?

If you are trying to amend your amended return then that will cause you a problem. You still need to amend the original return. And - if you are correct about the rejection reason - you're going to need to print and mail the return.
If you tried to amend the return again then you need to delete the amendment and go back to your original return and click the amend button on that return.
Then add the 1099-R as a new 1099-R. Don't try to adjust a previous 1099-R.
If you have to mail the return attach any 1099s that have withholding and the one that you added for the amendment whether it has withholding or not.

No. At the end Turbo Tax just shows you the net federal and state combined. But that is only for your info. You will still get the full refund and you need to pay a tax due.

No, state taxes owed cannot be paid from the federal tax refund. You will have to pay the state taxes owed as shown is the File section of the program.

Yeah, that is the plan. Just finish it with a new printed PDF and then the program knows I am "done".

It depends.
Any of the assessments that were for routine maintenance are just expenses that went away. Any of the assessments that added value to the property added value to your condo so they are added to the basis.
You'll have to go back through all of those assessments and figure out which ones added value and which ones were just repairs. And then add all of that to what you originally paid for the condo to get your basis.

That penalty is not for late filing; it is for an underpayment of taxes - either you did not have enough taxes withheld from your pay or your estimated tax payments were not enough to cover your tax liability. You can be getting a refund and still be hit with an underpayment penalty. But that message is a warning, it does not mean you will be penalized. There are timing issues with your tax payments and you COULD be in a penalty situation. Why am I getting an underpayment penalty if I'm getting a refund?
Go through the penalty section and answer the questions. Depending on your tax bill last year, you may not owe a penalty this year. If your income fluctuated in 2024, you can opt to annualize your income.
Search for penalty, use the jump to link and go through the underpayment penalty interview questions.
TurboTax federal software does not take into account automatic extensions, so that is another reason, the message may not mean you will incur a penalty. You can tell TurboTax to let the IRS bill you, and the IRS will apply any extensions that TurboTax does not.
See Florida tax relief, and also IRS - Disaster Tax Relief some relief applies to entire states, other relief is specific counties, so the TurboTax federal program calculations do not include the extensions in those links.

That is correct.. With a reverse mortgage you can take a lump sum payment or monthly payments.. Most older people that have a mortgage take a lump sum to payoff the mortgage so they no longer have payments until they die. (but no monthly pay out payments) and yes they kept track and reported all the interest when it was paid off. The properties in the trust (This one and 8 others) are now all rentals and with the stepped up basis and reset depreciation are operating with a net loss so this deduction would just be adding to that loss being carried forward.. So, I'm thinking even if it's borderline to take the deduct in the trust I don't have much to lose because if I got audited 5 years from now and they disallowed it the properties would be only be carrying forward the loss so there shouldn't be any penalty (Just the loss of the deduction being carried forward)

You are correct that you are allowed to withdraw $22,000 per disaster.
In order to do this in TurboTax you have to enter two separate 1099-Rs. After you enter the first it will ask you for all of the information about the federally declared disaster that you pulled the money out for. After you enter the second one it will pre-fill the disaster for you with the same disaster information that you entered for the first disaster.
You need to overwrite the disaster information that the system has pre-entered for you and enter all of the information for the second qualifying disaster. This should allow you to remove the early withdrawal penalty and spread both out over three years.

But yes, if you go through the filing process as if you are going to file by mail, then TurboTax will show that it was filed. You will create a PDF of the forms to be filed, but you don't have to actually print it on paper.

Right. Turbo Tax only sells Deluxe and higher for prior years. Maybe you can find Basic online somewhere else like Amazon. But be sure it is a new one and legit.
