Do you have the Online, or the Desktop software Wait for the original return to be completely processed. Here are steps to amend a current tax return. TurboTax Online On the Tax Home screen, scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and select the year you want to amend. Select the Amend (change) return dropdown,  Then Amend using TurboTax Online.  If you're told to amend your return via TurboTax Desktop, follow the steps for TurboTax Desktop instead. Continue through the screens, Make the changes you need to make, and carefully answer the remaining questions to finish amending your return. TurboTax Desktop Open the TurboTax Desktop software for the year you're amending.  Under Need to Amend a Filed Return?,  Select Amend a Filed Return. Select Amend for the return you need to amend.  If the return you need doesn’t appear as an option, select Find a Tax File to find and load the return. On the Do you need to change anything else screen,  Select Update next to the info you need to change. Continue through the screens,  Make the changes you need to make, and carefully answer the remaining questions to finish amending your return. Don’t forget to select Save As (or Duplicate on Mac) from the File menu when you save a copy of your amended return.  This will preserve the tax return you originally filed. Give the file a different name from the original, like [tax year]_TurboTax Online How do I amend my federal tax return for a prior year?

I am surprised that your second attempt at filing was not also rejected, since the IRS knows that you should have attached form 8962.    Yes, they will charge you interest on what you should have paid by April 15th.   In the meantime, create your amended tax return (1040X), and e-file it. This time, before you hit Send or File or whatever, take a deep breath and ask yourself, "Is this return correct?".   Although there is no deadline on this, you are motivated to do this sooner than later, because the 1040X and the payment with it will stop any further interest being charged.

Thank you so much for the quick answer.  So if the LLC deducts the health insurance premiums on the 1065 deduction schedule, that should be included in the K1 box 13 as code M?   I am having an issue understanding this because the health premiums are deducted PRE TAX on the 1065 and it allows me to deduct them on my personal taxes too??
If you need your return reviewed, then run the complete check and a pop-up will appear. See: What if I need my return completely reviewed?
No, check your entries- you must have a typo.

Hello there, I want to close my S corporation in 2025. I filed for an extension for 2024 due to some family issues. S corporation - only one employee on a W-2. The company received 2 checks in January 2025 for services that were performed in December 2024. The checks total $363.44. All required 941, 940, and Social Security tax forms were submitted and paid on time. When should I file my 2025 closing report with the IRS? Do I have to file a 941 for the first quarter with no income? What date should I include on my final closing tax report? Thanks a lot.

I would suggest that you file an extension while waiting for the missing form.    You would have to pay any tax due by April 15 to avoid penalties and interest.   There is no fee for filing an extension in TurboTax.   Please read this TurboTax Help topic for instructions on how to file a Federal extension and this one on how to file a state extension.

The options are the standard deduction and itemized deductions.  Your dependent would not likely have expenses to itemize, therefore the standard deduction would be the one to take.  Itemized deductions include medical expenses, charitable donations, mortgage interest, property taxes.  So since your 15 year did not likely pay them in an amount that was greater than her standard deduction, then she would take the standard deduction.

I need to amend an item on my 2024 return. I filed it on March 30th and received my direct deposit on April 7th. My problem is when I open my 2024 Premier desktop version the first page gives the option to file an amendment, however when I click on that it starts to ask me questions as if I'm starting a new return. I have tried loading my return first, but when it comes up there doesn't seem to be an option/link to start the amendment. Any help with this would be appreciated.
