NO!!!! Do not try to make any changes.
You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner. The IRS does not allow you to take it back.
If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.” The changes will go nowhere.
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally. You will need to use a form called a 1040X.
Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed

Thanks Bill. I have no spouse and I do have foreign earned income. Due to interest bearing accounts I owed my state some taxes, but have since figured out how to get to the screen to pay that so I am not late. I was going to leave it alone once I had paid, and manage to mail it by the June deadline...but figured I'd give it one more try and the "lying" suggestion...it WORKED!! I filled in the wrong information so I can access the questions. I was able to delete my daughter as a qualifying dependent! I then went back in to the main Dependent Care Screen and answered "no", deleted the form in tools...and I was finally able to e-file! Thanks so much for that suggestion...I would not have considered lying just to access the questions and amend, but that was the magic answer! Thanks again!

Receiving the same income reported on both 1099-NEC and 1099-K can cause confusion with the IRS, as it may appear that you have received more income than you actually did. To correct this, follow these steps:
Contact the Issuing Company
Explain the Situation:
Contact the company that issued the 1099-NEC and 1099-K forms.
Explain that the same income has been reported on both forms, which may cause confusion with the IRS.
Request Corrected Forms:
Ask the company to issue corrected forms to accurately reflect your income.
Ensure they understand the need to avoid duplicate reporting.

My guess is the difference is you have special characters in your password and your son does not. Mine worked when I removed the special characters.

It's not clear why your son is even filing a tax return. If he has enough income to have a tax liability, having him claim the education credit may be an option.
There is a provision that allows your student-dependent to claim a federal tuition credit, from a practical matter it seldom works out. A full time student, under age 24, is only eligible for the refundable portion of the American Opportunity Credit (AOTC) if he/she supports himself by working. He cannot be supporting himself on student loans & grants and 529 plans and parental support. But, if the student actually has a tax liability, there is a provision to allow him to claim a non-refundable tuition credit. But then the parent must forgo claiming the student as a dependent, and the $500 other dependent credit. The student must still indicate that he can be claimed as a dependent, on his return. This is worth up to $2500 (AOTC shifts to all non refundable). In your case, you would re-allocate some tuition from the 529 distribution to the AOTC. The 529 distribution earnings become partially taxable. Still, the family usually comes out ahead.

Per your reply, I have completed the "Send tax file to agent" Token number: [removed]-33418694 Please see the second NJ-COJ form for taxes paid to the Pennsylvania municipality. You can see that the current value in box 9a of that form is correct, but only because I modified Column B, Row B in the Other State Income and Tax Smart Worksheet. If you remove the numbers from Column B, you will see that the value in Box 9a goes down significantly, which reduces the credit and increases my taxes due to NJ. I look forward to hearing back on why this is happening.

Do you mean you cannot find it? Did you forget how to access your online account? Or are you asking about your refund?

Make sure your password does not have special characters. Use the Wells Fargo Advisor not the Wells Fargo integration in TT.

For me, once I took out special characters out of my password it worked. @MarilynG1 - please stop suggesting people can manually enter their information from their wealth advisors. We use this for the automation. if you have any connection to Intuit you need to advise their Tier 3 support that the API they are using with WF doesn’t allow the use of special characters in the password. Given the fact that WF allows special characters when logging in to its website, or mobile app, or with other 3rd party interfaces, I’m pretty sure it’s a TT defect that needs to be solved ASAP. telling people to comb through a litany of 1099-DIV information and manually enter is not helpful.

Only the IRS is in control of how long it will be for your refund to be issued. Typically it can take about nine weeks after identity verification to get the refund. You can watch for information on the IRS refund site.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

I had the problem with TT Not Responding, even after waiting 1 hour. I spoke with 3 different TT support people (all nice but unable to solve the problem). Tried clearing cache & cookies, uninstalled, reinstalled, bought it a second time, I even bought a new computer -- still no help. I finally had an epiphany at 2am that my old data, ie depreciation forms some going back 15 years could be causing this. As soon as I started deleting these unneeded/no longer relevant forms, TT began working perfectly. Many of us are long time users of TT so there could be a lot of no longer relevant information that is still being accessed when TT is processing, and this could be jamming up the program. I hope this helps.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities. There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing
