Not unless you are charging $966.00 this year. And again, since I file electronically, why would I look at a printed page for filing instructions after I filed electronically?

Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.

Hi, I bought a house in 2000. I stayed there until 2015 and turned it into a rental property. I'm considering to move back in for a few years before selling it and move out of state when I retire. I read the Housing Assistance Tax Act of 2008 has changed how the capital gain exclusion for primary residence is calculated. I have a few questions: -- Is it correct that I have to convert my rental back as my primary residence for at least two years before I can claim any capital gain exclusion despite the fact that I lived there from 2000 to 2015? -- If I move back into the rental for 5 years and sell it in year 2030, how do I calculate the nonqualified use period for capital gain exclusion? Do I start with year 2000 when I purchased the home or end of 2008 when the Housing Assistance Tax Act of 2008 took effect? If I start with year 2000, I have 20 years of qualified use (2000 to 2015 and 2025 to 2030) and 10 years of non qualified use (2015 to 2025). If I start with end of 2008, I have 12 years of qualified (2008 to 2015) and 10 years of non qualified use. -- I'm married but the house was bought when I was single. I have never filed a quit claim deed to add my wife into the title. Do I need to add her name to the title in order to qualify for the $500,000 capital gain exclusion? Any advice will be appreciated.

Paying your fee did not file your tax return. If you did not go all the way through the FILE section and click a big orange button that that "Transmit my returns now" you did not e-file. Or if the e-file was rejected and you did not notice and fix the return then it still has not been filed.
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
The only way to file a 2023 return now is by mail. Print, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

TURBOTAX TOOK MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT
Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund? Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive? Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account. TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

TURBOTAX SAYS:
How do you justify debiting my account?
The provision is spelled out in the Pay With My Refund Agreement, which you agreed to when you opted to pay with your refund.
In addition, by clicking the "I Agree" button below, you electronically sign and authorize Intuit (through its third party processor) to debit the TurboTax Fees, Additional Products and Services Purchased and any applicable sales tax from your bank account number identified in the Agreement below, in the event that you do not receive a tax refund that is sufficient to pay for them.

No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue. If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help. Do not use the word “refund.”

@mroman2013 wrote: TurboTax -- this is a HUGE issue. I've paid for software that does not work as advertised. I should be able to file an amended return but cannot. That's not entirely accurate. You CAN file an amended return with TurboTax Business. You cannot E-FILE an amended return after you have e-filed the original return. The odds of Intuit "fixing this" for 2024 are nil and it probably isn't even likely that they'll fix it for 2025. If you need to file an amended return with TurboTax Business after e-filing an original return, you'll just have to print and mail it.

You will have to look at your TurboTax account(s) for your self:
You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities. There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing
