https://www.irs.gov/individuals/understanding-your-cp59-notice     DID YOU E-FILE?   Did you e-file?   Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted  or rejected your federal e-file.  If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.   Check your e-file status:   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/    What does it say in your account?  Does it show that the return was accepted?   Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”   If you discover or realize that your e-file was rejected, you will need to print it, sign and date it in ink, and file it by mail now, since e-filing is closed for returns for tax year 2024. @megangwin

Hello,   I am reporting a consistent "Error 1101" blank screen glitch in TurboTax Online. The error occurs after inputting W-2 information when trying to proceed to the next section of wages or other income.   The glitch triggers specifically if Box 12 (401k contributions) is set to any amount above $23,000 (e.g., $23,500). The data entry itself works, but the moment I click "Continue" to move to a different income section, the screen goes blank.    I have attempted the following troubleshooting steps with no success: Clearing browser cache and cookies. Attempting the entry on multiple different web browsers. Currently, the only way to proceed to the next section of the return is to manually lower the contribution to $23,000, which is an inaccurate entry. It appears the system is failing to recognize the 2025 contribution limits.   This issue has also been reported by other users here on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/TurboTax/comments/1q9a95y/turbotax_crashes_when_i_try_to_complete_income/     Could the technical team please look into a fix for this navigation block?   Thanks!

This is unusual because TurboTax is supposed to optimize between the standard deduction and itemizing. This is true even if you entered them. The only way this should happen is if you checked the box "must itemize".  The only time this is necessary is if your filing status is married filing separately and your spouse itemized
@megangwin The answers provided above in this thread should answer your questions.
Why is the IRS telling me I need to file my 2024 fed taxes when Turbo shows it was sent on April 9.

@KC Kirk , @Plarka , I do not have 2025 TurboTax Business  but do have  the 2024 version. So I went back and looked at the issue you are reporting -- not able to e-file the W-2/W-3.  My version of 2024 says  that while you can prepare and print the forms , you cannot e-file these from the  desktop version of the product.  I would suspect that this policy probably continues for the 2025 desktop version of TurboTax Business. It suggests using the on-line version of the product.   Is there more I can do for you ?

Yes, the proceeds are taxable income.   Box 1e is your basis, which reduces the amount of income you will pay tax on.   Cost basis is the original purchase cost of an asset (such as stocks, bonds, or property), plus any adjustments that result from transactions over the period you own the asset.   The basis is what you originally paid for it.   How did you get it?   If you can't determine the cost basis, you will have to use $0, which generates the most tax.   If you need help determining the basis, please see the article linked below.      How to find a stock's cost basis
Box 1e is what you originally paid for the asset.

I am now able to update one 1099-R by going into Forms Mode. However my second 1099-R (second pension) did not carry over from 2024.   And I cannot figure out how to add a second 1099-R from while in Forms mode. I went to Turbo Tax Help and it was no help. Appreciate any help on how to add another 1099-R form while in Forms Mode. Also any knowledge when Turbo Tax Easy Step will include retirement income steps.   Thank you.

Same [removed] different Year. It's doing the same thing for 2025. Intuit products support stinks, live reps aren't any help either, if you can get one.
