I filed jointly with my ex husband in 2023, all that information was under his username. I need to access it for my daughters FASA but not sure how since I don’t have the username or password.

You have multiple properties (schedule E worksheets) started in TurboTax. Delete the Royalty Property from your return to remove the error on Schedule E. Look for the Schedule E Wks related to the royalty property. Don't delete your rental property. In the example below, there are 2 rental properties and one erroneous royalty property that needs deleting.

You can search for rentals, then use the Jump to rentals link to be taken the summary page.

Does the K-1 report income for Box 1? If not, you won't see the "material participation" question. Further, you must check "no" for active participation in order to see the "oil & gas property" question. Answering "Yes" to either the material participation question or the follow-up "oil & gas property" question will avoid the passive activity rules.

I submitted my taxes on TT desktop and it was accepted. Great. I then opened my son's 2023 form, which had "JR" in his filename (since he is a junior) and did his 2024 taxes. Submitted those without incident, and all was good. However, I just realized that my son's 2024 file did NOT have the "JR" in his filename (like it did in 2021, 2022, and 2023), meaning that my tax files were overwritten - and since I didn't notice this, the PDF file I made for my son also overwrote mine. WTF. What an annoying bug this is. Do I have any recourse now? Is my only option to actually pay more money to request a copy from the IRS? Why on earth does TurboTax not retain any revisions of files created along the way? Consider that a feature request.

Just as I thought. TurboTax was incorrect on not letting me report my Indiana income (see my previous posts). I got a letter from Indiana IRS on 04-13-24 (two days before filing date) saying my TurboTax filed return was wrong and I owe them money. I ended up hurrying up and filing an emended return using MANUAL FORMS. Mailed them out to Indianapolis on 04-14-24. And now, USPS tracking says my mail never got there !!! I am beyond being upset with TurboTax / Intuit. Software has errors. Not only that my Indiana return was NOT correct, now I wonder if I got all of my money from federal return as well. NEVER again TurboTax for me (and anyone I know). Not only that, I demand a refund for the software: $45.99 + $25 for Indiana filing = $71. By the way, amazon return expired on 01-31-25, way before I could ever even test the software. What a scam !

Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about your payment.
If you want to check the debit date you specified, look on the filing instructions for your return. It will tell you the debit date the IRS or State will deduct the payment. If you did not print them out you can view them using the following steps:
TurboTax Online
In TurboTax Online, sign into your account.
You should be on your Tax Home page.
Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
Select 2024, and then select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right menu).
Once you're in your return, you can navigate around as usual.
Click Tax Tools (in the black bar on the left of your screen) and then click select Print Center.
Click Print, save or preview this year's return
TurboTax CD/Download
Go into Forms Mode by clicking on the Forms icon in the top right of the blue bar.
In the Forms in My Return list on the left, click Filing Inst. [It's usually toward the bottom of the list.] The form will appear on the right side of the screen.
You can view the form on the screen or you can print a copy by clicking the Print box at the bottom of the screen.
To return to the interview, click on the Step-By-Step icon in the top right of the blue bar.

It sounds like you used online software instead of the download software if you got all the way to the "end" before attempting to enter your license code.
We see people get confused and they keep logging in to online software which will require them to pay at the end. You need to use the desktop software. One way to tell if you are using the right software---your tool bar. Online software has the toolbar in a black vertical column on the left side of the screen. Desktop software has the tools up on the top of your TT screen.
You appear to be posting from online software instead of the desktop CD/download software that the license code is for. If you are using online, you are using the wrong program. You need to switch to the desktop software to get what you paid for. You have to download it, update it and open it up from your own hard drive to use it.

Only $1,000 can escape the penalty.
You can now withdraw up to $1,000 per year from your retirement account without paying the 10% early withdrawal penalty.
Emergency Expenses:
This withdrawal is specifically intended for unexpected and immediate financial needs, such as personal or family emergency expenses.
Repayment:
The money must be repaid into the retirement account within three years. If not, it's treated as a loan and subject to taxes and penalties.
Self-Certification:
You don't need to provide detailed documentation to justify the withdrawal, but you do need to certify that it's for an emergency.
Annual Limit:
You can only make one such $1,000 withdrawal per calendar year, unless you repay the first withdrawal within three years.
Tax Implications:
While the withdrawal is penalty-free, it's still subject to ordinary income tax.

TurboTax informs me that I have one problem to fix before I can E-File my tax return. When I click 'fix the problem' they take me to Schedule E - Line 4 - Royalties where a zero exists (I have a rental home with no royalty income). Even when I wipe out the zero on Line 4, leaving it blank, they will not allow me to E-File, continuing to say I have a problem. It is very frustrating because I have filed with TurboTax for many years without facing this problem. Thanks, Bill

Someone already reported (about two weeks ago) that Add Investment brings up a blank screen. The posted fix does not work...or is not an option since when I load turbo tax I need to be in amend my return and there is no left menu option there. Turbo tax also doesn't recognize my return unless I click on the saved return file. So the amounts that show up as refund or owed are $0 until I click the file. Then after I select amend my return numbers sometimes go back to $0 and sometimes they show correctly. The amend procedure is pulling the investments but won't let me add another. Please do not suggest using the import option since (1) I never get that option and (2) if I did I still wouldn't use it. I'm on desktop version
