No, that is not a loss you can deduct on a tax return.  It was your personal decision to discard it.
States provide non-driver's IDs if you don't/can't drive.   Not sure, but maybe passport or greencard could work?

@laura_kozisek    I'm not sure that the import files are arranged in a way that TTX would recognize that there was more info to import. ____ The only solution I see would be for TTX to ban 1099-INT imports for these problem financial providers until such time as the software teams from BOTH work together offline, to figure out what is causing the problem...and then Fix IT.

@arejfour    Microsoft issued a "second" W11 OS update this week.....after just updating my W11 a day or two ago, another one appeared this morning.   The new one has a new number...and takes unusually long to download and install.  The install reboot almost looked like it was hung at 0%....so I went and watched TV for an hour.....eventually it installed.  (laptop was started first and it's still working on it.)   Folks with W11, might need that most recent W11 update fully installed first, before the TTX update will go thru.

For contributions that were made for tax year 2024, the attributable earnings are reported on your 2024 tax return, even if you made the contribution or withdrew the earnings in 2025.  Enter the income on your 2024 tax return by going to the retirement income section, entering a 1099-R, say you need to create a substitute 1099-R.  Enter the total amount of the withdrawal in box 1, the taxable attributed earnings in box 2a, and use codes P and J in box 7.   For contributions that were made for tax year 2025, the attributable earnings are reported on your 2025 tax return.  You will get a 1099-R next January.

For casualty losses, you can deduct your loss without regard to the usual limits on such deductions, meaning you can deduct the loss even if you don't itemize your other personal deductions. https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc515   Your loss is the loss in value of the property caused by the storm.  If you repair/restore the property to as-was condition, then your costs are allowed to be taken as a a fair estimate of the loss.  But if you did not restore the property, or if you made the property better (such as using the insurance money to remodel an outdated kitchen) then you may need an appraisal to determine the amount of your loss.  You also can't deduct any part of your loss that was covered by insurance, or that would have been covered by insurance except you decided not to file a claim.     You claim the loss deduction (if you have one) on your tax return using form 4684.  You must include the FEMA number of the disaster on your tax return, that will tell the IRS that you are claiming a qualified disaster loss.   Other provisions (like penalty waivers) are explained on the IRS web site at the link provided.

If you want an extension to June 15, just print your return, file by mail, and attach a written statement explaining your circumstances.   If you want an extension to October 15, you must request that in writing (not electronically).  Print a copy of form 4868, complete and sign it, attach a written statement explaining that you are living overseas, and make sure it is mailed (postmarked) by June 15.  You may want to use a mailing or express service that has tracking and proof of delivery.

@cberistain wrote: she is. not  my dependent.  she is retired and living about 90 miles from us She can still be your tax dependent if you meet the tests I mentioned above.  She can be any age, and does not have to live with you.  You must pay more than 50% of her total living expenses (including health care, rent and everything else); and she must have less than $5050 of taxable income.  Social Security (disability) is usually not taxable, if that is her only income.  But if she has a pension, then she might have more taxable income.  And social security counts as "support" that she provides to herself, and you would have to provide more than half her total support, when counting all her sources of financial support.    If she is not your tax dependent, the costs would be gifts reported on a 709.

I just had the same problem this AM. I've been using TT for 15+ years and I have never had this problem. I did not try any of the suggested remedies.  I was not going to try any of those. I did use the manual update link and that worked. My Premier is now up-to-date. I think, perhaps, that a recent W11 update may have caused a glitch. I've seen glitches like this before and MS eventually fixes it, assuming this is the cause. TT needs to investigate this issue.

Where do you see information that says your refund was sent to the bank?   Does the IRS refund site say that your refund was issued?   TurboTax does not handle your refund.  Your refund(s) come from the IRS and your state. Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.   TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst
You said ask a question and I did so answer it please
You are supposed to wait until your original return has been fully processed before you send in an amended return, to avoid confusion and long delays.
