Bumping this thread again as we are also experiencing the same bug. No “file” button on the left side but worked on just going through every step by step again until we got to the IP pin step. Supposedly the next step is enter prior year AGI but it kept skipping that and proceeding to our identification (driver’s license, etc). I had to click back from there and then it will finally show the AGI question. Another issue from there is that there’s still no way to enter my spouse’s prior year AGI so our taxes still kept getting rejected.  please resolve issue

@patrml364    And the Distribution is not, or will not be shown on a 1099-DIV form...a -DIV form is for $$ coming from a regular personal account, and not any type of retirement account.   Any RMD distributions you take should be on a 1099-R form.   (not on a 1099-B either)

Form 8582 often does not populate in TurboTax when your passive losses are allowed in full, meaning there is no "limitation" for the form to calculate. If your Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) is below $100,000 and your rental losses are $25,000 or less, the IRS does not require you to file Form 8582 because the special allowance allows the full deduction.   To check, follow these steps:   Sign in to TurboTax. Open or continue your return by selecting Start or Continue. Select Tax Tools from the menu. With the Tax Tools menu open, you can then select View Tax Summary in the pop-up, then Preview my 1040 in the left menu. Look if the total loss is used on this year's tax return.

If you are ready for the nuclear option, I suggest you do an HSA Reset to remove all your HSA data so you can start over.   This error that you have is unusual in that it has appeared only in the last week or so and seems to be quite sporadic among users.   HSA RESET ***Reset***   1. make a copy of your W-2(s) (if you don't have the paper copies) 2. delete your W-2(s) (use the garbage can icon next to the W-2(s) on the Income screen)   *** Desktop/Windows***   3. Go to the upper right and click on Forms, and  4. Select the desired form (1099-SA (if one), 8889-T, and 8889-S (if one)). Note the Delete Form button at the bottom of the form’s screen.   *** Desktop/Mac***   3. Switch to Forms Mode by selecting the Forms icon. 4. From the menu, select the form (1099-SA (if one), 8889-T, and 8889-S (if one)) you want to remove (if you don't see it, select Open Form at the top). From the Forms menu, select Remove [form name].   *** Online ***   3. go to Tax Tools (on the left), and navigate to Tools->Delete a form  4. delete form(s) 1099-SA (if one), 8889-T, and 8889-S (if one)   5. go back and re-add your W-2(s), preferably adding them manually 6. go back and redo the entire HSA interview....   @user17755702920

See @LeticiaF1 and TurboTax Help here.   Your return rejected because the taxpayer's (or spouse's) Identifying Information is missing. In order to electronically file your return, Prior Year Identifying Information must be entered for the taxpayer (and for the spouse if applicable).    Open your tax file and go to File Proceed to the screen, "Review Your Federal Filing Choices" Review your Identifying Information (AGI) If you filed a prior year return, you must enter the Prior Year AGI for the Taxpayer (and Spouse if applicable)  Do not use the tabs at the top of the screen to exit this interview. Once you have made the necessary corrections, you may resubmit this return for electronic filing. If the reject continues, you may need to print and file this return by mail.   @Ameille

As of December 31, 2024, if you live in New Hampshire for any part of the tax year, you must file a return if you had  more than $2,400 of gross interest and/or dividend income for a single individual or $4,800 of such income for a married couple.  If you did not have interest or dividends above these amounts, then you do not need to file a NH return.     If you do and you are still having trouble printing the return, try the steps below:   Try using a different browser. Save the PDF Go > to file > Print > Microsoft Print to PDF > then print the new file Disable “Print in grayscale/black only” if the PDF is white text on dark background Update/repair Acrobat: Help > Check for Updates; then Help > Repair Installation (Windows). Clear print spooler (Windows): 1) Win+R > services.msc 2) Stop “Print Spooler” 3) Delete files in C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS 4) Start “Print Spooler” Let us know if these do not correct your issue. @shauni-morrison

I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:   TurboTax Online:   Sign into your online account. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.” This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.   TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:   Open your return. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent” * This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us. Please provide the Token Number  (including the dash) that was generated in the response.   *(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)

@DianeW777    RE:  Next, if you did rent more than 15 days, you will have to indicate you own the apartment to be enter the rental expenses and income, you will not enter any asset since you do not own the building or land.   This is the case for me.  I rented (sublet) for 90 days, and because under 200 days, and having made an income of less than $20K, Airbnb did not issue a 1099.     I hope to enter my income from Airbnb, while deducting the rent I pay my landlord, and also utilities, etc..     Im not clear on how I should do this, could you explain in more detail - why do I have to indicate I own the property - doesn't make sense to me...?   Thanks
