Edit him in the Personal Info/My Info section.   Birth Date....SSN (do NOT say SSN is not eligible for employment.) ...kid did NOT provide more than half his own support. And for a newborn child, the child lived with you all year.   (all the time since birth is alive all year)
The option was in the software but cannot locate it now.

You probably answered something incorrectly in MY INFO.   Go back to MY INFO, click the child’s name  and go through all of the interview questions carefully and slowly.  Read every screen top to bottom.     Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number.    Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment.  If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year.  There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support.  Say NO to that question.
all this is low revenue for Intuit, they've moved on...

I purchased the program (as I have for years) only to find that on the 20th of January it does not work!   How can we reach customer service.  It is fraud to sell a product that you know does not work.  Why would you not have a huge disclaimer on this product at every location that is selling it.  Intuit needs to refund money to retirees!  An incomplete tax application is useless and they raised the price to 56 plus tax for 2025!   I want to speak to the genius that decided retired people would be okay with purchasing their tax program that only works for OTHER people!

Any update on the release of form 5695. Doesn't look like January 21 is going to happen. Surely someone at Turbo Tax knows when this form will be available.  If I need to go elsewhere to get this done I need to plan. I'm hoping Turbo Tax does plan and work to schedules.
How do I find out wut this form means

Can I e-file my federal Form 1040-X amended return? by TurboTax •       4828 Updated January 14, 2026 9:34 AM   Generally, you can e-file your amended 2025, 2024, or 2023 federal return via TurboTax if your original return was also e-filed in TurboTax. However, there's a chance your return can't be e-filed based on your unique situation. If this happens, you'll need to print and mail your tax return. If you're amending your return for 2022 or earlier, you need to print and mail your amended return. Follow these instructions to amend a prior-year return. Your amended return can take up to 20 weeks for the IRS to process. If further review of your return is necessary, the IRS may take longer. Three weeks after mailing your amendment, you can start tracking it at Where's My Amended Return? on IRS.gov.

What tax year are you asking about?   If you are trying to file a rejected past year return, the ONLY way you can file it is by mail, so you need to print the revised copy that is correct in order to mail a correct tax return in.  Past year returns cannot be e-filed.   When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

We are unable to duplicate this form flow experience. Have you run updates when you open TurboTax Desktop?   If you are still seeing this experience after updating, you can share a copy of your TurboTax ".tax2025" file with us. This would be a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information.     If you would like to do this, open your return and go to Online in the top menu, then choose "Send Tax File to Agent." You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number.   Reply to this thread with your Token number and tag (@) the Expert who requested it. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information.   We will attempt to determine what is going on in your return and if possible, provide you with guidance to resolve the experience.
