If you received a payment confirmation and your credit card was charged, that amount will still be credited into your account (Your TurboTax will show as paid and the balance should show as "0"). Once you fix the rejection issue, you should be able to resubmit without having to pay again.
I paid for two states (Georgia and Maryland), but I used only Georgia. I want a refund of $37.10 from Turbotax, for the state I never used.
Thank you!    My apologies for not finishing the initial question. I was on the phone app and it froze.    Thank you for the info. I was able to find it after your reply and change it.

E-filing fee in desktop software Did you purchase desktop software with state software included?  They sell Deluxe both with and without state software--so you have to be careful which one you choose.  And even if it does have the state software download included, that is for preparing the state.  There is an extra $25 fee to e-file the state.  You can avoid the state e-file fee if you print and mail the state instead of e-filing it.

The calculation for income received during the nonresidency period can be completed in one of two ways. Use your statements and/or pay stubs immediately before you moved into Maryland (MD) to arrive at the amount (interest, dividends, wages). For wages use state wages box or if not the same as box 1 you can use box 1.  If all income is received evenly throughout the tax year you can divide by 12 then multiply by the nonresident months to arrive at your total.
Yes, I will go through and double check all answers. Thanks so much!

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.   You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst

@Donal p mccall Wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend, and make sure you have saved a pdf of the original return before you amend. (If you do not save it as a pdf, the amended return will overwrite the original, and the original will be lost forever)     See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a tax return -   CURRENT YEAR https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US?uid=lfunevhk   Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.     You can watch for information here: https://www.irs.gov/Filing/Individuals/Amended-Returns-(Form-1040-X)/Wheres-My-Amended-Return-1

Correct, you do not include the value of your 401/403's through work. You only include the value of your traditional IRA. Don't include the inherited IRA, if this had a basis you need to fill out a separate Form 8606 outside of TurboTax. Please verify that you indicated in the follow-up questions, after entering the Form 1099-R for the inherited IRA, that you inherited this IRA.

In the federal section, enter all of your itemized expenses.  Then as you walk through the state section, when asked, answer that you want to itemize your return.  The DE standard deduction is $3,250 for most filing statuses, and $6,500 for Married Filing Jointly, so if your total itemized expenses are greater than that, then TurboTax should prompt you to claim the itemized deductions for your state.

Purchased deluxe version of TurboTax which comes with Federal eFiles as usual, but this version also came with a Free State eFile. Said so. Prepared returns, went for eFile - no hints that efile would cost extra. Final step, State eFile hit paywall.  Product purchased clearly said Free State and Intuit/TurboTax reneged on that promise.  So how do you justify this.   Understand, we will not trust Intuit or TurboTax again.

TurboTax does not know who will receive the stimulus checks that the IRS is sending.   The IRS has identified some people who were eligible for the 3rd EIP payment who did not receive it and did not use the recovery rebate credit on their 2021 tax returns, so the IRS is sending out those payments.   You should check your online account with the IRS---many people received the 3rd stimulus before they filed their 2021 return, so they did not need to use the credit on their tax return.   Look at your online account with the IRS to see if they sent you $1400 in 2021. https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account   If you could be claimed as someone else's dependent in 2021, you are not eligible for the payment.   If you were eligible and do not receive a payment soon from the IRS, the other way to get the payment is to amend your 2021 return to use the recovery rebate credit before April 15, 2025.   If you did not file a 2021 return at all, then prepare one and mail it in.   2021   https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040gi.pdf     Here is the IRS 2021 Form 1040 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040--2021.pdf or if you want bigger type use 1040SR for Seniors, https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s--2021.pdf   And 2021 Instructions https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040gi--2021.pdf 2021 Tax and EIC Tables https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040tt--2021.pdf Sch 1 : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s1--2021.pdf Sch 2 : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s2--2021.pdf Sch 3 : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s3--2021.pdf
Only you need to recapture the depreciation on your tax return. Your sisters never used the expense on their returns. For this reason they will have no recapture.     @By55
