Was the rejected efile a Joint return? To file MFS you need to setup a new account and not transfer from 2024. But Joint should be be better. Here's some general info on getting married. Did you both use Turbo Tax last year? You can not transfer from or combine 2 returns or accounts. Just pick the return for the spouse that has the most complicated return to enter or has any depreciation or business or more investments. Or use the account for whoever you want to be listed first going forward (by the way you can not change the order of the names). Then add the other spouse's name, ssn and info to it. You should usually file a Joint return which is only 1 return combined for the both of you. Make sure to stick with this one account for the future. Just ignore the other spouse's account. Getting Married FAQ https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-filing-status/help/what-does-getting-married-mean-for-my-taxes/00/1756642 AND JOINT VS MFS Joint is almost always better. Here's some things to consider about filing separately…… In the first place you each have to file a separate return, so that's two returns. And if you are using the Online version that means using 2 accounts and paying the fees twice. The Desktop CD/Download program would be better to use. Many people think they come out better when filing Married Filing Separate but they are probably doing it wrong. If one person itemizes deductions on Schedule A then the other one must itemize too, even if it's less than the standard deduction, even if it is ZERO! And if you are in a Community Property state it can be complicated to figure out. And there are several credits you can't take when filing separately, like the EITC Earned Income Tax Credit Child Care Credit Educational Deductions and Credits And contributions to IRA and ROTH IRA are limited when you file MFS. Also if you file Married Filing Separately up to 85`% of your Social Security becomes taxable right away even with zero other income. @dlil0913 Not sure what you mean. Pretty sure that's where they are supposed to end up....that actual tax form that the IRS gets showing the total $$ from all box 2a $$ on all 1099-DIV forms you may have....(for those who have more than one 1099-DIV) My box 2a $$ from the 1099-DIV have been transferring to that line for years and years. As far as I know, they've always been transferred on that line...... Just checked my 2015 Schedule D...and the $$ from box 2a on my 1099-DIV transferred to line 13 on the Schedule D back then too.

I guess I'm calling customer service for some refunds. I suggest everyone else impacted by this do the same -- maybe they'll finally get the message. I just don't believe this problem lies with the State of Oregon -- especially absent any kind of official and detailed feedback from Turbo Tax. @AmyC And I just checked again with the Oregon TSU for good measure. They know nothing of this issue -- and insist it's a TurboTax bug. I believe them. @AmyC 415PM PT Mar 6 -- still no update, and the problem persists. Just spoke again to the Oregon TSU, and they confirmed that this is absolutely a Turbo Tax bug and not with them. Their Communication Dept is now aware of the reports and will be following up directly with Intuit. This user, in particular, is now about to call for TT Support for some refunds. This is just inexcusable.

Say all of it is the RMD. If you are the age required to take a IRA or 401K RMD it will ask you if a pension is the RMD. Say yes. Anything your pension pays you is considered to be the RMD. Traditional pensions automatically fulfill the rules of an RMD. So for the RMD question put in the same amount as box 1.

@user17728419973 @SusanY1 How old is Dependent 2? I think the post above might be a typo….when the dependent is 24 years of age or older. It should be UNDER 24, not older.

The IRS isn't asking for that as as optional form and the instructions even say "must" file (under the certain conditions).] Just because TurboTax does not provide that required form does NOT mean it is optional. Shame on you for saying it is optional and shame on Intuit for not providing a required form.

The reason being I think BOTH of these companies want to get out of the software business (installed software) and get all of their customers to move to online solutions. Doing so would save them a small fortune in expenses and likely increase their revenue exponentially - can't really blame them for that posture.

I am having the same issue for Dependent 2. The option to select "Full-time Student" does not appear but it does for Dependent 1. I deleted D2 and re-entered and still will not come up. I added another Dependent just to see if it will work, nope. I have identical information entered for both Dependents. Very frustrating.
