If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.
To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings:
Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL.
Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu.
Toggle the switch to ON.
Refresh the page and attempt your import again.
If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play:
Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements.
Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back.
Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser.

There are many rules and exceptions to who needs to be issued a 1099-S (see Instructions for Form 1099-S ). For the 2025 tax year, Form 1099-S (Proceeds from Real Estate Transactions) must be furnished to recipients by February 17, 2026 so you can file your tax return if you did not receive one this week as long as you have the information. I would suggest keeping all the information together with your tax records for at least three years. You can enter the information in TurboTax under Sale of Home if you have all of the information- if you go through the questions, TurboTax will calculate the exclusion and report the taxable gain if there is any. See Tax Aspects of Home Ownership: Selling a Home - TurboTax. You do not need a tax attorney for this.

Box 16 on a Form 1099-R is for entering the pension distribution applicable to the state you live in. If there is not an entry there but you had state tax withheld, then you need to enter the distribution amount for the state you live in, most likely the amount in box 1 or 2(a) on your Form 1099-R. TurboTax can't make that entry for you, since to do so would be making an assumption. @julietaboulie

For spouses filing jointly, the standard deduction for 2025 is $31,500 + $1,600 for each of you who is 65 or older. There is also a $6,000 senior deduction for each of you 65 or older when your modified adjusted gross income is $150,000 or less. It is NOT part of the standard deduction. Rather it is computed separately on Schedule 1-a line 37 and that flows to line 13b on your 1040

In the FILE section, make sure the 'Filing Date' is the current date. It may try to default to a 2025 date.
There is no rush to file an Amended return; it takes at least 12 weeks to process, whether Efiled or mailed, and probably won't be processed until the 2025 filing season concludes. If you mail, you only need the Form 1040X and any supporting documents for changes that were made. If a dependent or Filing Status was changed, no documents need to be included with the 1040X.

Currently, TurboTax Online does not allow viewing the raw XML code that is transmitted electronically to the IRS. However,You can see the data that populates that XML. To do so: In TurboTax Online, go to Tax Tools > Print Center. if using desktop, go to the forms. Select Print, save or preview this year's return. in desktop, go to the forms. Choose "Include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional)" if working online. Go to the forms directly if working in TurboTax online. Go to "Foreign Tax Credit Carryover Reconciliation Worksheet" or "Schedule B (Form 1116)." If the information you are seeking are in these forms, it is in the XML. You can file amendments if the information is not correct and the carryovers did not populate in your return. This has been reported as an issue by some TurboTax users and this is being addressed by the developers. Meanwhile, I stand by my original statement "If your Form 1116 Schedule B shows the correct year (2025) in Forms Mode and if all amounts are correctly listed, then this information will be sent correctly to the IRS regardless what's listed on the pdf" @Raytam .
