@Stacy93 While Illinois does not tax inherited IRA distributions, it is possible Illinois takes the position that since the IRA was owned by the estate and not you, the distribution from the estate is indeed taxable.  The money you received was not from a IRA you inherited.  The estate inherited the IRA.   See the dilemma?    You may want to ask someone locally for advise.

It's now a year later (April 11, 2026) and the What-If worksheet still hasn't been fixed!!!!!   TurboTax already knows whose name is on each income and property. It also knows in which state we reside. TurboTax should be able to properly allocate the community and separate property in the worksheet. Why doesn't this work?   Until this problem is fixed the worksheet should have a giant disclaimer stating that the worksheet does not properly handle the allocation of separate and personal property.   When will the What-If worksheet actually handle community vs separate property correctly? Does anyone at Intuit read these comments? Can these comments and concerns please be forwarded to the team that can actually fix this problem?   The current situation is really quite unacceptable IMHO.

It's 2026... Did this ever get solved as to whether or not we should be entering the Excess business loss limitation as both the aggregate Gross income and aggregate Total deductions?

The At Risk box on Schedule C line 32?   If you have money not at risk you can not take a loss on schedule C. If you don't know what it means then probably All your Investment is at Risk (check Box 32a). It means you are using your own money for the business.   Do you need to change it from No to Yes for box 32a?

Can you help me ?  I filed my taxes on April 3rd.  I'm afraid they didn't process it yet because of the fact that my one employer w2 was spelling my name wrong and address i had to get it fixed. I didn't file my taxes and was dodo didn't need to have a w2c to file because only my address was wrong now. I'm hoping this doesn't mess it up. They added a c to my name and had my address number opposite 878 787 .    Hopefully wasn't done on purpose.
Seems that something is removing $790 from the total of $4k charitable donations. I had 8 entries with 2 over $500.

@user17759303457 you have the option of each filing Separate or  Filing Joint in Illinios since you both were not full year residents.    if you choose to file file MFS , you would file MFS, with a residential tax return.  Your spouse would file MFS with a part year tax return.   Alternatively, you can file MFJ and then take a tax credit for what your wife paid in the other state.    https://tax.illinois.gov/individuals/jointfilingdifferentstate.html

I have interest and dividend from outside US and I use the desktop version of Turbo tax. When I try to enter the data manually, it insists on FEIN even though there is none. I have tried using 0000 or 1111 or even leaving it blank. None of these work, And Turbo Tax continues to show this as an error during Federal Review. Any solution would be welcome. Thanks.
help says, under federal, deductions and credit, click on estimates and other taxes paid. there is no estimates and other taxes paid link.
