Hello, I’m posting this here in hope that someone REAL will contact me. Way to go TurboTax. You piece of filth! You’re stealing from me because you want me to pay to find out simple information and you can’t connect me to a real person. I have yet to receive a refund and will never because I don’t know how to access how much it was for. Thank you for creating an awful site and wasting my time and money. I refuse to pay. Connect me with someone REAL! NOW!

Sorry --  No one can call you from this user forum.  Phone support is not provided with the Free Edition,  If you purchased a paid version of the software or purchased PLUS you can contact customer support during their business hours.

To call TurboTax customer support

They are available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday Pacific time.

As for not knowing how much your refund is in order to enter it on the IRS site, all you need to do is LOOK at your Form 1040 on line 20a.  That is where it can be found.  Did you forget how to access your account?

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS.  Your ONLY source of information regarding your refund is the IRS.

To track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

On the IRS site you are also offered the use of an app called IRS2Go

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

Sometimes people get confused by the “summary” given by TurboTax and use the wrong amount for the federal refund.  Make sure you are only using the federal refund amount, and not an amount that combined your federal and state refunds.  Look on line 20a of your 2018 Form 1040 for your refund amount.

If you filed and it was Accepted and you are waiting for your refund only the IRS can tell you when they will send it.  Sounds like the IRS is taking too long to send it.  Were the Turbo Tax fees supposed to come out of your refund but they are asking you to pay now?  Even if the IRS hadn't sent it yet Turbo Tax still needs to get paid.  If you don't pay now they will automatically take it out of your bank account.  Then when or if the IRS finally sends your refund they won't take the fees out again, except maybe the 39.99 Refund Processing Service charge for handling your refund.

You can log back into your account to see the refund amount.  Why can't you find your return?
