As an owner-builder who constructed my home, I incurred approximately $100K in sales tax, which essentially amounts to 10% on top of material and labor contracts. Are there any special rebates or advantages available to me in terms of taxes?

You can deduct the sales tax in the year paid in lieu of deducting state income taxes as an itemized deduction. You would have to have paid the tax separately, as opposed to buying the completed house that included the sales tax . You can learn more from this TurboTax article.
