The card usually arrives 7-10 days after your return is filed. The IRS releases most refunds within 21 days of the date that the IRS accepts the return. (exception: the IRS did not begin processing e-filed returns until 1/29, so if you filed before then, it would be approx. 21 days from that date). See below for information on how to track your refund.

So let's say my Direct Deposit date is the 26th of Feb, on the Where's my Refund site; will the funds be available on the TurboTax Debit Card the 26th, or how long does it take to post and become available?

We don't know exactly how long it will take for your refund to deposit to your Turbo Visa Debit Card.

This is from the IRS website: "It takes additional time for refunds to be processed after leaving the IRS, and for financial institutions to accept and deposit them to bank accounts and products like debit cards."

Following because I’m wondering the same. My refund is set to be deposited on the 26th. Wondering if I’m gonna have to wait even longer for my funds or if they will be available pretty quickly after IRS deposits

@Shaaaaaaaa345 Your TurboTax Visa Debit card does not determine the timeframe on which you will receive your refund.

For the most up to date information regarding your return you would want to check your status on the IRS Where’s My Federal Refund? site. Updates are made daily, usually overnight. You may also download the IRS2Go app to check your Federal refund status.

Where’s My Refund? has a tracker that displays progress through 3 stages:

(1) Return Accepted "Received," (2) Refund Approved and (3) Refund Sent.

Once your refund status on the IRS shows "Refund Sent" it can take 1 to 5 business days for the financial institution to deposit fund into your account.

Stop responding to us if yall are just going to give us generic information from the irs website or the turbo tax card website. It shouldnt take up to know 1 to 5 days for my refund to show because when it hits my bank its gets deposited that day wmr says its going to be deposit. I will not be using this card next year. Turbo taxes need to explain that to people.

Yeah-I'm mad. I only did the card because I was "preapproved" for an advance. After I chose the card, suddenly I wasn't approved. I'm now on the 5th business day, and no money yet. I will not be using this card again next year. It would have been in my bank account by now if I hadn't used this darn card.

@sammixx0 Once your refund status on the IRS shows "Refund Sent" it can take approximately 1 to 5 business days for the financial institution to deposit fund into your account. The Turbo Visa Debit Card is provided by Green Dot Corporation and is issued by Green Dot Bank. So Green Dot Bank will receive your refund then deposit the funds on your card.

Bottom Line ITS ALL A SCAM! Only customers who have NOT received their money - have received their cards! Those of us who’s money has cleared - HAVE NOT gotten their cards. I currently am in the process of filing a class action suit against Intuit/green dot. This is not a game and they’ve been doing this for YEARS! Some of their customers refund money was with held until JULY 2019-although they filed in early February. And that’s just what I’ve found on this forum. Imagine the people we do not know about. It’s misuse of government funds according to my Atty and because we are unable to access “our” money we will be compensated . Green Dots Rush card was sued not too long ago for similar reasons. People were unable to access THEIR money and each person I believe was rewarded 250-750.00 per issue. I know it’s not a lot considering what we are going thru. However, we MUST act in this suit to prevent this from happening again AND TO LET THEM KNOW THAT THE GAMES STOP HERE WITH THE 2020 customers.

I find it really funny also I used this BS SCAM service last year ( 2019 ) I had no issues . Amazing how this year it's been a real nightmare funny that last year on the date my refund was suppose to be available it was . Now this year is BS not to mention how supposedly you can speak to a agent online and they don't have the common curtesy to truly answer your question. Instead they avoid your questions and try avoiding it and give you some other BS line of questions that have nothing to do with. What you are trying to ask . Believe me there's a pit-ion on FB to try to get the government involved to file a class action LAWSUIT against Turbotax . It's not a hund people it's millions of people who want the government involved in the class action lawsuit . So now how's Turbotax going to answer this question!!!!

If you chose to get your refund on a Turbo Prepaid Visa Debit Card, then normally the card arrives in postal mail 5-10 business days after you are approved for the Card, so it may or may not come before a Federal refund, depending on how fast the IRS is in processing a particular return. In most cases the Card probably arrives first, since the IRS has had a lot of delays processing returns this year. As for your Federal refund, here are some things you should check.

If you efiled, you should double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted.
If you used Online TurboTax, you can sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home.

If that showed it was accepted, you can use the "Where's My Refund" tool at the IRS website below to monitor the status of your Federal refund.

TIPS when using the IRS WMR tool:

Be sure you have waited at least 24 hours after acceptance before using the IRS WMR tool. Or if you filed a paper return in postal mail, wait at least 4 weeks before using it.
Be sure you enter the correct SSN and filing status.
Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount. Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a screen.
Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a.
You can also try phoning the IRS refund hotline. I've seen it work for some users when the WMR tool didn't. 800-829-1954
