how do I download 2021 TurboTax?

I purchased a TurboTax 2021 license from Costco 3 years ago. I still have the license key, but the desktop app download link from the original e-delivery no longer works, so I am not able to install the desktop app on a new computer. All access to this 2021 version seems to require a new purchase. Is there an official site from which I can simply download the installer (for macOS), and apply the license key that I already purchased?

When did you purchase the TurboTax 2021 desktop edition from Costco?

The Costco website only has tax year 2024 for sale.

On the page titled YOUR TURBOTAX ACCOUNT, select Downloads.   That is the page that allows you to enter your license code.   You can use this link to get back there.   It seems you have some products in the Intuit account and others in the Download account.   @noc168 

@mary2lou   Sorry, the 2021 program is no longer available.  On Oct 28 they removed 2021 when they moved 2024 to the past year programs.  They only sell and support the last 3 years.  

You might need to go to a local tax place or if you have a simple return and want to file for free you can fill out the forms by hand. Here are some basic forms…..

You have to print and mail prior year returns. When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return. Don’t forget state.

Do you mean that you filed a 2021 tax return?   How long ago did you file it?   Did you e-file it in 2022, or did you mail it in at some later time?  When?   

A tax return is the Form 1040 you send to the IRS.   A tax refund is the money you get back if you paid too much tax.   

Are you asking about a tax return or are you asking about a refund?   Please explain.

TurboTax is no longer supported before 2022 tax year.  Try FreeTaxUSA or somewhere else.

 Do you mean you are looking for your 2021 tax return?  You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Start a 2025 return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records.  That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

NOTE:  TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years.  Returns older than seven years are purged.

If you mean you want to prepare a 2021 tax return, it is too late to use TurboTax for that.   TurboTax no longer has the 2021 software nor can it be updated or supported even if you can find it on eBay ,etc.   If you need to prepare a 2021 tax return, seek some other software that still has past year forms available.
