After you purchase the download product version, you should see the option to download on your screen as well as in the purchase confirmation e-mail sent to you. What file did you download? Was it a .tax or .pdf or .txt file? If it downloads as a .txt file, try changing the .txt to .pdf or use a different browser to download it.

My computer died and I had to buy a new one. It does not have a disc drive. I bought turboTax at Costco and it on the old one. That computer is gone. How do I download it to my new computer?

You can download your software directly from TurboTax if you still have the license code from the CD you purchased. Please follow these steps:

Go to InstallTurboTax.com.
Set up a TurboTax account if you don't already have one.
Enter your license code in the pop up window. (It’s a 14-character combination of letters and numbers (XXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) found on your CD box insert)
Select your operating system, and select Get Download.
Download your software and install.
- When you get to the Your product is installed, now let's activate it screen, enter your license code in the License code box, and select Continue to complete installation.

BarbaraW22, I followed your instructions but that did not turn out to be what I thought. I do not want to do my taxes on TurboTax online. I just want to load my CD on my computer but when I insert the CD into the little drawer (what ever that's called) nothing comes up on the screen. I know that it's supposed to come up with a screen where I enter the license code but as I said, nothing comes up. TurboTax help was no help at all as my question has not been programmed into their data base so it couldn't help me and they are asking $30.00 to talk to a live person. Do you know how I can access my 😧 drive so I can get the run program from their index?

There are some serious glitches in this year's program and I honestly wouldn't recommend downloading it. I have used Turbotax (& Quicktax) since 1993 and this year is the worst I have ever seen. I would recommend trying another program.
