Why did turbo tax automatically sign me up for lifetime learning credit when i am not a full time student at any institution right now ?

You don't need to be a full-time student for that credit. You only need to be a full-time student for the American Opportunity Tax Credit.

You only need to be a HALF TIME OR MORE for the American Opportunity Tax Credit.

Any amount of tuition is eligible for the Lifetime Learning Credit or Tuition and Fees Deduction.
