The 1098-T is only any informational document. The numbers on it are not required to be entered onto your tax return. However receipt of a 1098-T frequently means you are either eligible for a tuition credit or deduction or possibly your student has taxable scholarship income.
If your are your parent's dependent; they claim the tuition credit, not you. If you have taxable scholarship, that gets reported on the student's return. Some times it's both and both the student and parent use the 1098-T to enter info.
In TurboTax (TT), enter at:
Federal Taxes Tab (Personal for H&B version)
Deductions & Credits
