I am slightly confused with the entry called "Personal Worksheet (name)-- Student info Worksheet: Principal payments must be entered. 

what is this referring to?

That question comes up if you are counting student loan payments  to qualify  a 529 Plan distribution (form 1099-Q), for tax free treatment, because there is a $10K limit.
