The TurboTax interview for CT does NOT ask for 529 plan contributions

Connecticut offers 2 deductions related to educational plans.  Learn about the only 529 plan with a Connecticut income tax deduction

  • Contributions to Connecticut Higher Education Trusts (CHET) up to $5,000 for single, HOH, or separate filers or $10,000 for individuals filing jointly or qualifying widower.
  • Federally taxable distributions from the Connecticut Higher Education Trust Fund (CHET)

When you go through the CT state interview, look for the screen titled ''Here's the income that Connecticut handles differently''.  See image attached.  You will click START next to CHET contributions, under Education.
