If I completely withdrew from college in the first 3 weeks of the 2020 spring semester, do I add my education info?

I received a 1098-T for the tuition/fees I paid for those 3 weeks and I was enrolled full-time at the time. I'm unsure that when I add the 1098-T if I mark I was a "full-time, part-time, or less than part-time" student, considering I left permanently.

You are considered 'less than part time' since you withdrew after three weeks.  You have to be 'at least half time'  for five months (not necessarily consecutive) during 2020 to qualify for the American Opportunity Credit.

You may still qualify for the Lifetime Learning Credit if your tuition was not refunded to you.

For others reading this, there is no 5 month rule, for this tax benefit.  The rule is

  • Student must be enrolled at least half-time for at least one academic period that
begins during 2020 (or the first 3 months of 2021, if tuition was paid in 2020)

So a quarter (rather than a semester)  or even a short summer session would qualify.
