Am I eligible for an education deduction or credit?

I was in grad school. I received scholarships totaling $4,600, but my tuition was $11,600. I put those numbers in and it said I wasn't eligible and listed reasons I might not qualify as "scholarships exceeded education expenses" or "no net qualified education expenses." Neither of those are true. Could there be another reason it says I'm not eligible?

If you are in grad school the only education credit available to you is the Lifetime Learning Credit.  That credit is not refundable.  It can only be used to reduce tax you owe. If you do not owe any tax, there is nothing against which to apply the credit
