I see that I'm not the only one having this problem. I've tried all the advice on here from going into the Additional income dividend area and clearing out any numbers to going to forms and deleting the form needed to be filled out (225).
To no avail the problem kept arising. This is odd because I never even filled out anything for dividends, from the start... I even went through the entire form (both Fed & State) from start to finish and still had the same issue. It's either a glitch that Intuit doesn't know about or they do know about and was there to force you to use their advice services.
Are you saying that you don't have a schedule B in your return?
Please follow these steps to see if you have a schedule B in your tax forms.
First, click Federal and then Wages & Income
Scroll down the list to see if you entered any investment income.
If not, look over your 1040.
Finally, sign into your account and go into the return
Open the “Tax Tools” drop-down on the left side bar
Click on “Tools” on that drop-down
Click Delete a form (the third one down) on the “Tools Center” screen
Scroll down and click “Delete” next to Schedule B if there is on on the list.
I can’t get pas this point where can I find this code to get pass this point
@Threadgill-angela Schedule B, Part II is Ordinary Dividends. Check your 1099-DIV entries by typing '1099-div' in the Search area, then click on 'Jump to 1099-div'.
You can then EDIT your 1099-Div info.
Click this link for instructions on How to Enter 1099-Div.
If you imported your 1099-Div, you could delete/re-enter it manually.
go to "delete form" under tools
search for additions/subtractions form 225 in the NY section.
Delete the form.
Review should pass.
i cannot get pass this i try a lot of times like two days and still can't help me please
@Neval1221 Please follow the advice above to either check the dividend entries on your tax return or delete the forms associated with this error.
I am having the same problem - what code did you use?
The code should be identified on your 1099. Please use the advice listed here to double-check your form entries.
this along with deleting schedule b worked like a charm. I struggled for hours, this was by far the most helpful. thank you so much
