"no section 199A income has been entered on Statement A"

I needed to enter data in Section D of the K-1.  I think that data should have programmatically transferred and entered.  I thank everyone for the help.  I have filed my return.

Marilyn, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.  I searched high and low for this and I finally found your response.  It worked like a charm today.  4.9.2023

"no section 199A income has been entered on Statement A"

I still have the same problem with the Section 199A entry on my K-1 form.  After I complete the prior step in this string of messages, the appropriate partnership appears.  When I click on it the ZOOM box for this entry, the pop-up shows the correct partnership.  When I click on the partnership turbotax takes me back to the same worksheet and shows that the same number is entered in Section D of the worksheet.  Please advise how to get out of this error since I have done what was reported earlier in this troubleshoot string.

"no section 199A income has been entered on Statement A"

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may resolve your issue.

  1. Revisit the K-1 Section: Go back to the Schedule K-1 section in TurboTax and carefully edit the entry. Ensure that all required fields are filled out, especially for Box 20 (Code Z) and the Section 199A information.
  2.  Clear and Re-enter: If the issue persists, try deleting the K-1 entry and re-entering it from scratch. This can sometimes resolve glitches in the software.

I found that the key was to fill in 0 for dollar amounts that are blank in the K-1 for during the 199A interview. You can get back to it by editing the K-1 entry.   I don’t have it front of me right now, but I think it was the first blank that was the culprit.

"no section 199A income has been entered on Statement A"

After speaking with a TurboTax customer service rep and after trying various potential solutions, the problem was solved by going through the federal review process and opening the affected K-1 document with the red exclamation point.  Below the box 20 with the Z Section 199A line there is a notation that hints with a Quick Link to open the K-1 document further.  By clicking on the Quick Link, it takes you to the portion of the document that also says Statement A with lines that have similar names as noted on the original K-1 document but had no amount associated with the line descriptions.  I inserted the amounts as listed on the original K-1 form in the amount cells including the Section 199A line item and wha-la, the exclamation mark disappeared, and the file passed the federal review.  This solution pertains to problems where the issuer of the K-1 is not required to provide a Statement A.  However, TurboTax did not indicate this Statement A is required for their computations to work properly.  This is a problem that TurboTax needs to fix as it has been around since 2021.  It has caused me hours and hours of trying to correct the TurboTax problem until I experimented with the added inputs.  Shame on TurboTax.
