Doesn't seem to be the problem because I have  Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) - 14.40.33810 program on my 1st win 10 desktop with TT premiere, husband account, installed and it runs flawlessly for my husband.  I have deluxe on my 2nd win 10 desktop in my account and it won't launch.   I have thst same deluxe on my laptop Win 11 with a different one C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) 14.42.34433 and it works flawlessly.  But I don't want to do taxes on my Laptop, I want it to work on my 2nd desktop.

Any help is appreciated

I am DEFINITELY NOT an expert but what I did to correct it not opening was to right click on that specific C++ numbered programs and “repair” it…..that’s all….(got this from a message above - pls look)

I don’t understand what caused this issue that it needed to be repaired.  (some update?)

3/5/2025 update: This answer is it!! On Windows 11 Home, spent 2+ hours on phone with the Turbotax person, they had no idea. This is the answer.

Thank you,  I tried the repair and tried to uninstall and reinstall then repair, but it did not work.  I also tried other suggestions and it would update when I tried to launch but still gave me an error after the update.  Still not able to use it.

For all of you who have been having trouble activating Turbotax deluxe.  I had decided to give up, and just today I tried one more suggestion sent to me to repair.  It did not work and I replied that it did not.  WELL, just now I tried what my son told me a few weeks ago.  I did not try it then because I did not think it would work.  But this was my last ditch effort, he told me to try to activate it in "safe mode".  I looked up how to start safe mode and clicked on TT deluxe.   Shockingly, it started and activated.  I restarted my computer in regular mode and it asked to update, then started up flawlessly.  

So, if you are still having trouble, try starting safe mode to get first activated.

Tri first starting in safe mode and activating it.  Then see if it works in regular mode.  That was my final try after trying everything I had read for weeks to get mine working.

How do you correct the error??

I didn't correct the error, I closed it and just started safe mode with networking and launched TT.  It started up and activated.  I then restarted my computer and it started right up.
