How and where do I report Schedule F, profit or loss from farming?

If you are using TurboTax online version, you will need Self-Employed version for Schedule F. That is the only online version that supports it.

Or you can use TurboTax desktop version and any of those (including Deluxe) will support Schedule F. While you can use any of the desktop ones to complete Schedule F, Home & Business desktop will provide better experience if you own a farm. It gives the extra guidance when it comes to finding farm-related deductions and helps with simplified income and expense reporting for your farm. You can find the desktop versions here https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/compare/desktop/

To add a Schedule F Farm (before filing):

1. Sign In or Open TurboTax

2. Select "Take me to my return" (Online)

3. Select "My Account" on top right of the screen (Online)

4. Click on "Tools" (Online)

5. Go to "Topics Search" (Online) or "Search Topics" in the top center of the screen (Desktop)

6. Type " Farm (Online) or "Schedule F - profit or loss from farming" (Desktop) and press "enter" (Online) or"ok" (Desktop) to add your Schedule F Farm.

In TurboTax Self-employed, type Farm Income in the search box in the top right click on the Jump to link.

You will be able to enter income and expenses that will be placed on Schedule F.

TurboTax does not directly enter information on Schedule 1.  You can type the income or expenses type you have in the search box to locate where to enter your information in TurboTax.

It is recommended to begin with the Income and Expense interview and TurboTax will guide you through step by step ensuring all your income and expenses are addressed.

You do not need Schedule C unless you have non-farm self-employment income in addition to farm income.
