this is so crazy i was also on the phone with them for 1 hour today and they eventually said a form wasnt ready and it'll be ready by 3/6. Im totally filing with another company this is ridiculous.
Please let us know if the upload does work. Weird it would but this entire story has been weird.
Well, we cannot figure out how to upload it from Desktop to Online...so...who could say? Does anyone know how to sync it that direction? It seems like you can go from Online to Desktop, but not the other direction, but I could be missing it for course.
The online version has the same problem, so switching to it from the desktop version won't help. :(
Intuit told me the online version is never eligible for a refund, so I filed a dispute with my credit card company saying I paid for services that were not delivered. Filing with H&R was easy. I was able.to import last year’s tax return from TT, and since I had already done all the legwork in TT for this year it took me less than an hour to enter everything into H&R not to mention it was about $100 cheaper.
I decided to heck with it and filed my taxes with H&R Block this year.
I wasn't able to upload any of this year's info I had entered into TT. However, I could upload my tax return from last year into HRB, which saved me some time. I then went through and reentered this year's info. I also had TT open in another tab/screen so I could refer back to it. HRB has its info/questions worded and organized differently, so that took a little to figure out where to enter all my numbers and get them in the correct spots.
I was able to submit my tax return, electronically, without any issues. I'm going to follow this issue with TT because of curiosity and wondering exactly when this will be fixed.
As for calling support, I did that many times, and I'm pretty sure that we're only getting tax support, not IT/software support when we call. They have no clue beyond what they read on their screens about what is going on with the software itself. They won't say it but they are just as clueless as we are.
Same old story again today!! This sounds a lot like Sesame Street's "The letter of day is.." with the difference being "date of the day"
There's another thread about this same issue: How do I resolve a Check This Entry error on 2023 - Wages Paid Schedule C?
I'm posting on Twitter/X and tagging TT with several messages. I may decide to do it every hour just to be obstinate. They need to respond better than this garbage. I've been using TT for over 10 years for my business and it has NEVER taken this log to file. The date keeps changing and we small business owners are paying the price for their incompetence.
I decided to stop waiting and filed with H&R Block. No issues.
I'm going to continue following this issue with TT and harass them with constant posts until they do something.
thanks for this info i didnt know h&r block allowed you to file yourself. I will be using them today!
It is Feb 28th and this ISSUE is still NOT resolved. WE need answers. The update time keeps changing every few days. WHAT is going on?
It looks like for me that TT fixed this problem, but I already filed a week ago with H&R Block...over this bs with TT...now just disputing the charge on my credit card and never filing with them again. Just a poor experience all around after 11 years of filing with them. The fact that they could not provide a single update and couldn't fix a simple problem, was enough for me to move on. Kudos to the rest of you that stuck this out!!!
Looks like TT has finally fixed the problem.
I just received a refund for the software, and I'm going elsewhere. This is BS, and I've been using TT for over 10 Years.
Where did your purchase the software from? Kudos to you for getting the refund.
FINALLY I was able to submit my return. But in the now standard operating method TT has, the update would not install, error was it was either missing a file or file was corrupted. I downloaded again, same issue. Both times it was verified as virus free by 2 different anti-virus programs. I had to uninstall TT, reboot, then re-install. Their incompetence is mind-blowing.
