How can I sort the "Your charities and donations" list in TurboTax Premier desktop version?

Currently there is no built-in feature to automatically alphabetize a list of charities in TurboTax Online or within the "Step-by-Step" interview mode of TurboTax Desktop.
In TurboTax Desktop 2025, there is a technical workaround using Forms Mode to sort your data.
Here's how:
I opened the "Charity Contrib" form and selected a charity, however "Sort Table" was grayed out. Same results for Cash and Non-Cash contributions. Grayed out for Schedule "A" too.
I assume you are using desktop and haven't filed already. Have you tried to do this even though it is grayed out? Be sure to click directly into a data field, the edit.
Losing a feature that used to exist in previous versions of TurboTax Desktop is a BAD user experience.
The "solution" proposed by TT to sort my charitable contributions list does not work...as another also posted.
I can't even copy and paste the list in its current order.
When I go to the forms list I do not have a charitable contributions worksheet either. I have separate pages for each contribution with all their details. I only want a list of the charity and the amount donated in alphabetical order. Can TT Premier do this? If so, how?
Regrets for not answering your response back in January.
Yes - I use the desktop version, and at that time I had not yet filed my return.
- the individual data fields were also grayed out and not accessible.
Now that I have filed my return:
- the "as filed" forms 8283 are not sorted in any discernible order.
- the "all records" worksheets are also not sorted in any discernible order either.
RANT warning:
The listing of charities provided by TurboTax form previous years returns has always been random, making it hard to find a given charity to enter. I swap which charities I donate to on an annual basis but maintain a large list. The list includes more than 150 charities. This has not been a problem in previous years using desktop TurboTax because I have always been able to sort the charities and donations, making it much easier to find and update.
** I have to wonder if Intuit's best programmers are now working on AI.
I made my own work-around, but I should not have to do that. This reduced functionality makes me wonder - are there other ways in which TurboTax 2025 is now less useful? Can I still trust Intuit? I won't be using TurboTax next year unless I see a commitment to do better.
