Is there a solution to get the Section 179 deduction to work? The depreciation deduction is not applying.

I see numerous posts about the section 179 deduction not working. Has this been resolved yet? Any workarounds to get this to work properly in the software?

what schedule and what type of asset? also do you materially participate in the activity?

Schedule C 179 for vehicle large SUV >6000 lbs and yes materially participate

Any updates on this? Having the same issue - after entering vehicle info, I'm not being prompted to take sec 179 deduction.

Have you gone all the way through the interview?  @RealtorRyan  Is this for a business (Schedule C), rental property (Schedule E), charity, medical or ??   You have to choose the Actual Expense method to generate the depreciation questions.  

To qualify for a Section 179 deduction, the asset must be:

• Tangible (you're able to touch it, which excludes intangible assets like patents or copyrights)
• Purchased (not leased) for business use
• Used more than 50% in your business
• Placed in service (purchased, acquired, or converted to business use) during the current tax year
• Acquired from a nonrelated party
