I sold a few items at craft show in Dec. I'm not business/selfemployed. I had a temp. permit and reported to state with $. Do I add all this again? Where do I put it?

Report your sales as hobby income. Under current tax rules, you cannot deduct any expenses, such as the cost of your sales permit or business mileage, but you can reduce your hobby income by the cost of the items you sold.

For example, if you sold a craft for $25 that you originally purchased for $10, you would report $15 as hobby income.

To report hobby income:

  1. Tap Federal in the left column
  2. Select Wages & Income at the top
  3. Go to Less Common Income
  4. Start Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
  5. Select Hobby income and expenses
