How do I track business expenses?

I purchased TURBOTAX ONLINE SELF EMPLOYED TY2016 PREP which claimed to allow tracking of business expenses.  It now appears that this only works if I also purchase Quick Books Self-Employed.  Am I understanding this correctly?

There is a 1 year subscription of Quickbooks Self-Employed included with the TurboTax Self-Employed version this year. So if you filed using that version, you get that 1 year subscription for free. The Quickbooks is what keeps track of your expenses like supplies, phone, mileage, and all other business expenses.
