It depends on whether your housing allowance is reported to you on Form W-2 or Form 1099-MISC. See IRS clergy housing allowance for more information.

That is not the issue. When I used the 2020 edition of Turbo Tax, you could enter your housing allowance as you went through the step by step guide. Not so in the 2021 edition. I know I can "override" the blanks and enter it, but when you run error check it always flags in. When you go to the datasource, there is nothing that allows you to enter it.
The housing allowance can be entered using the step-by-step guide. This article will walk you through the process so that you will not have to override anything. Based on the question it is assumed you do have a W-2 form for your clergy duties.
Be sure to answer the question about 'Uncommon Situations' after entering your W-2 (see image below).
I tried every solution this forum has given. I made sure that I checked the correct box for religious employment , and the only way I can get the correct amount on the SE adj wks is to overide. As stated by other message writers, the amount in SE adj wks is doubled of whqt I entered on my W2. Yet when the program does its final check, it says that the correct amount I used to override in SE adj wks is an error.
Unlike others, I've had this issue with Turbo Tax in past years, but I cannot find out how to correct it this time.
You can do a self-employment tax adjustment in Self-Employment tax in TurboTax CD/Desktop @exskier.
This is not a direct link: It sends me to community... but I cannot find referenced question/answer still.
I have found that Turbotax does not handle a minister's housing allowance properly. In addition, it does not allow you to override necessary entries in order to fix the problems created. My example is that my wife and I have additional w2s that are separate from our church organization. Turbotax includes this income on the SE form when it should not and it does not allow you to remove the amount from the form.

7. On the screen below enter the parsonage or housing allowance. Continue.
8. On the screen below select how the taxes should be calculated.
