I keep receiving the following error message: "Form 540:Excess SDI: To electronically file this return, you must enter W-2 information (including California withholding and SDI withheld) directly on the Form W-2: Wage & Tax Statements inculded in the Federal program." I do not have a W-2 because I am retired. I tried to input a W-2 with a $1 wage and the program still does not allow me to file electronically, even though TurboTax has charged my credit card for the filing fee. Did not have this issue last year. This is very frustrating.

I’m having the same issue! Can’t file my return because it needs me to input excess… what excess? I don’t have any! Really pissed about this
I finally decided to call Turbo Tax yesterday and the final try fixed the issue. Instead of put a “0” in the box, remove the “0.” the program pre-populates so the box is completely blank. This took care of the issue and I finally was able to file. Good luck.
