Your California return should be drawing all of the information from your federal return. If you didn't enter any business income into your return then the California return shouldn't have any business income on there. If all you have is a W2 then the 540 EZ should already be selected for you.
Did you have assets for your business that you didn't dispose of or anything that might be carried over from year to year in order to change your tax situation? It sounds like you would benefit from having someone review your tax return. You could consult with a tax professional in your area or TurboTax online has professionals who will offer live help to you. But if you have already filed your federal return and have these errors In there it would be a good idea to get another set of eyes on this.
Thank you for taking time to reply. I have not had income from business since COVID started. I have read in the past that once you file as a business owner, TurboTax will continue to file as a business owner regardless of having income or not. So the form does not automatically change even if the data from federal tax return transfers. I’ve read on here a several years ago someone had the same problem and found a way to fix it. It’s been so long I can’t remember how that person had it fixed. I thought someone might know. I know 540 2EZ that I did is correct. I just wanted to e-file for faster return. I guess if I can’t find the way to change the form on TurboTax, I’d have to file by mailing in.
Ok ... are you trying to use a less costly program or just remove the Sch C or both ?
