where are you entering this? and what program:  is it desktop or online?

Clicking "Forms" & going to Sked E, I'm entering data directly into the IRS form using my laptop

Please go to the input section.  It's much easier, and Turbo Tax will do the calculations.

Enter ALL tax information using this method:

In Forms menu, click Step-by-Step (in the upper right-hand corner).

1.  Click Federal Taxes across the top.

2.  Click Wages & Income across the top.

3.  Click I’ll choose what I work on.

4.  Scroll down to Rental Properties and Royalties.

5.  Click Start or Update by Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E).

The program asks about your property first, then your income and expenses.
