I am using 2019 Business. My 1099B shows date of sale of a stock as September 4, 2019. TurboTax insists that date "is not within the current tax year" and highlights the field in pink upon running error check. But there is no way to delete or edit that field in error check. I went back and tried both typing in the date and clicking on the calendar and the entry accepts either 9/4/2019 or 09/04/2019. But TT will not accept the entry and continues to show that error.

Go back to Business Info and ensure that you did inadvertently select a fiscal or short tax year which is outside of the date you are entering for the transaction.

Oops, am I repeating myself here. I knew it had to do with a different tax year. Initially, I just couldn't find where to change "short" year to "calendar" year. I found it. Problem solved, thanks.
Thank you, this works
