Both Form 1099-R and W-2 report income, but they are not the same form. A W-2 reports wages earned from working a job as an employee of a company. Form 1099-R reports a distribution from a retirement account or IRA.
Using TurboTax, you can enter either type of form, or both. You do not have to have a W-2 in order to file a tax return.
