I'm retired and was working by the hour helping a business. That business issued a 1099 misc. My question is why does it not list the income in the 1099 misc line but puts it in the business items, business income and expenses (schedule C)?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
If the amount was in box 7 of your 1099-R the IRS will consider you as having a business. That requires you completing Sch C. You can deduct any expenses associated with production of income and can deduct your medical insurance premium payments including what you pay for Medicare.
Its not a 1099 R... the form is 1099 misc
Yes. Typo. I meant 1099 misc.
The problem was that I had misread a question.... problem solved.
