In the past I've seen the "show me everything and I'll decide what I want to work on" option.

Now with this new interface I can't figure out how to select this option. Please help!

In the past I've seen the "show me everything and I'll decide what I want to work on" option.

Here's another way to navigate:

  • Open your return, and in the left menu column click on Tax Tools.
  • Then choose TOOLS.
  • In the TOOLS window, click the blue button "Topic List."
  • Then you'll see all the topics in collapsed version.
  • You can expand a particular section of interest or can click Expand All at the bottom.
  • Then click on each item you want to visit to be taken to that portion of the interview.

See screen image.

That was what I needed -- thank you!

You're welcome.  Good luck.

In the past I've seen the "show me everything and I'll decide what I want to work on" option.

Hate the new format also ... why do they fix things that are not broken... in each section you can scroll to the bottom of the current list and click on "see list" to open all the categories in that section.  I highly recommend  you use the superior downloaded version if possible.

In the past I've seen the "show me everything and I'll decide what I want to work on" option.

I added 2 more screen images above showing some additional ways to change to those different navigation methods.

When you click on the Federal Taxes tab and "Wages & Income", you'll likely arrive at a page that says "Let's get the details on what you told us earlier"  or "Your Income".
Scroll down past those topics to choose other options.  A "Guide Me" button may only be there the first time.   The next time there,  you may have choices like screen images 2 and 3 above.

The Deductions section works the same way.

That is what the old version looked like for me (last year). I'm using the self-employed version for 2017 and unfortunately don't see those options at all :(

In the past I've seen the "show me everything and I'll decide what I want to work on" option.

And this year they aren't using the separate tab for Business and Personal.  It's all under the Federal tab.  I haven't checked it out yet.

In the past I've seen the "show me everything and I'll decide what I want to work on" option.

I don't know much else to add.   The 3 screen images posted above are what I see when navigating Self-Employed Edition.

If you see a button that says "Add income" (in the Income & Expenses section)  or "Check for tax breaks" (in the Deductions & Credits section), see if one of those will expand the screen and lead you to the screens posted above.

In the past I've seen the "show me everything and I'll decide what I want to work on" option.

If you can I still recommend switching to the downloaded version Home & Business ... it has more features and once you use it you will never switch back ...  To  continue in the desktop version see this…….

I'm really just trying to find the full list of deductions and special tax situations. I'm handing over my books to a tax specialist for the first time this year and want to make sure I cover all the bases. Really wish TT didn't make this so hard :(

@Lindsey
I'm leaving you another screen image of another way to navigate which shows all the topics.
I can't post it in a comment, so watch for another answer on this page.
