Can you cancel an amended form that has not been sent when using the dvd ?

Yes, go to Forms in upper right and then in the left side of the screen Delete the 1040X and also change the return back to the way it was originally filed.

This didn’t help. I remove it but when I go back to edit the 1040 form it still comes up as the amended form 1040X. I can’t seem to delete it permanently. It says it’s removed, but it’s not. PLEASE Help, I’m pulling my hair out trying to file this. I’ve already paid for e-filing. Again this the DVD we are talking about.

Look in the Forms for a amended return worksheet and delete that first
