Why is SBTPG holding refunds?

@Sassycassie58 @leannm38 Go through the federal reserve and have them open an investigation. I dealt with the same thing starting all the way back to 2/24/22. From that date up until July, I allowed them to swindle me. I reached out to hierarchy and my refund was returned to the IRS 10/22. The IRS held it do to me having them trace the check, and my funds were literally release Valentine’s Day. I received my check after a full year in the mail “today”. Thank you Jesus!!! Don’t give up. If you allow them to tell you they’re returning it w/out reaching out to hierarchy, you’ll never receive it. Good luck!

If you utilized the Pay with My Refund method, please reach out to the third-party processor, SBTPG.  You can do this on their Help page.  You can call using the numbers listed, or you can scroll down on the page and click Submit A Request.  On this public forum, we do not have detailed information about refund processing.

Yess I been wanting to say that since forever 🤣 because the fact y'all keep trying to make it seem like it's not y'all TurboTax choose to work with stpg bank meaning when something goes wrong like missing returns we going to to the business that we filed with y'all need to do something about them or find a new bank because TurboTax is going to sued behind stpg stupidity I been waiting a whole year for my refund and the IRS is just receiving it back as of February 10th and now they telling me I have to wait 6-8 weeks to get it with is ridiculous

Call the taxes advocate line tell them your refund was sent out to TurboTax Bank and now there holding your money and you need help getting it back it's going take a couple months

Here it is 2023 and they’re still holding them. They will never stop. No more TurboTax for me! I’ll use whichever one deals with republic bank or something else.

No offense @carissa M but you are lying. I realize this is a old message but I don’t care. You are lying to these people. I have so much as proved it’s a lie. Same issue with mine. I have placed MULTIPLE calls to both turbo tax and SBTPG and both sides confirmed that they received my federal refund on the 17th. Turbo tax got their money immediately. (How convenient) but yet the taxpayer is expected to wait a week for their money. Turbo tax says well that’s a third party nothing we can do contact them. You contact them and get laughed at and said oh well gotta wait. You tell these people that their money isn’t being held but it is. There is something that can be done you guys are the ones who hired them to do it so in my mind it’s f the taxpayer as long as we get our money. But if TurboTax is not paid they will hound you. I feel like that you guys are just as crooked as sbtpg. Enough research will show you that they hold the money in interest accounts to make money. 56 million people used your service last year. 56 million. Do for easy math 100 dollars a person you guys are getting rich too but it’s f the taxpayer.

We can read and we are not idiots. You absolutely hold funds for days...They have sent the money and even our debts are showing already paid ...but no fees taken or deposit from you all in 4 days? I will never ever use this again .Never have seen a tax refund with code 846 not hit the bank in 6 days from the transcript date...TT ARE THE ONLY USERS STILL WAITING LUKE IDIOTS

I contacted my local senators office and was told that this isnt right and was told to contact attorney general to get the ball rolling on getting a resolution. I strongly urge every one to reach out to local senator in your area and get help maybe between that and everybody swearing off turbo tax they will do what’s right going forward. I feel extremely bad for those with families that are in dire need of the money. But let’s hold them accountable

@SForrestLO already have confirmed neither of those are the case it’s same account I’ve used for 3 years. Funny how the state refund processed weeks early into the account with no issue. But the federal being more money (convenient I know) and we are getting jerked around. I’ve contacted the irs you guys and sbtpg all 3 confirm that sbtpg has the money. It’s time to pay up you guys have been paid. We need our money. I’ve already placed calls to the state A.G.’s office senators office and BBB and filed complaints with each. So turbo tax wants to screw people out of what’s theirs then we can play that game. I’m not stupid I’ve done my homework on this issue. And I’m also not stupid enough to think that just me never doing business here again will change anything but I hope enough of people like me flipping the bird to TurboTax and going elsewhere will enact the change that’s needed.

@SForrestLO  And if my last response wasn’t enough I called sbtpg and got a really nice person on the phone. He confirmed refund was there (been done 10 times since the 17th) I brought up how turbo says it could possibly be an issue with my bank account not being right he said no we can see the account has been verified to be correct. So I asked him why they are holding it then and he said I have no idea. Any government check is allowed at most 1 BANKING DAY. This is straight from the a.g.’s office. Being that mine arrived into sbtpg at 4:30am on 2/17/23 I would say one banking day has passed and at very latest been in my account at the latest today. Especially since sbtpg was open all weekend and on a holiday one that they acknowledge on their site they don’t recognize as a holiday. So is that enough proof that they are fraudulently holding everybody’s refund turbo or do you need more proof? When will the lies and covering of each others backside in the interest of both companies bottom lines of profit come to an end? I told the guy sounds like another legal entity needs to be brought in to investigate this. His response was “ that will only further slow it down”.
