Why is it taking so long in Pending status - I filed on Jan 27th...

I submitted my return using turbo tax on Jan 27th - it is now February 17th - yes I realize that the the IRS didn't start accepting until Feb. 12th - yet it has now been 5 days since then  - it has never taken this long before - and I have filed electronically since Turbo has had the option - I'm really getting worried too.  I called support and they basically said wait...is the IRS that backlogged?  Anyone else in this position?

Lots of people are still waiting for returns to be pulled off the servers by the IRS----and yes the IRS is backlogged.   All you can do is wait and watch your emails for the notice of whether your return is accepted or rejected.

As a follow up - I got a reject email notice from the IRS/Turbo yesterday.  It appears that there was an issue with a specific form used in my tax calculation that had been resolved in a release of TT  after I had filed.  I followed the instructions and refiled - the IRS accepted the return within a couple hours followed by state acceptance.
