I got screwed over I don’t even have TurboTax and they screwed me they sent my stimulus check to my exes account my name was never even on the account but TurboTax excepted it $1400 goodbye thanks TurboTax
Sure as [removed] TurboTax screwed me and I don’t even have TurboTax they excepted my stimulus check into my exes account. I couldn’t get a straight answer this whole time until today I thought my stimulus check was going to bank account 7078 meant that I was getting a card in the mail and that was the last four digits on the prepaid card they soon found out today that was the last four digits of my exes TurboTax account thank you TurboTax good job. I seen a post about the IRS and TurboTax working good on his third round so they don’t make any mistakes.

No. Your bank account information is obtained by the IRS from your most recently filed tax return or information entered in Get My Payment. The stimulus payments are issued by the IRS, not TurboTax.
I have attached a picture below from the IRS page Questions and Answers about the Third Economic Impact Payment — Topic G: Receiving My Payment.
In addition, if the account was closed or no longer active (or if your name is not on the account), the bank is required to return the deposit. Your payment will be issued as a check to the address the IRS has on file for you. This is generally the address on your most recent tax return or as updated through the United States Postal Service (USPS).
I did not file 2019 or 20 taxes nor am I on Social Security or anything else yeah IRS sent my $1400 stimulus checks to TurboTax account they should realize that my name was not on the account nor my Social Security number and then sent a check back to the IRS The account is not closed I do not have access to it. It was deposited into that account and it’s not mine.
The best way to correct the issue is to contact the IRS directly using the steps in the link below. This will ensure the IRS has the latest information for you specifically.
Also, if you were entitled to either the first or second stimulus payments, but did not receive them because you were in the same situation as mentioned in your comments above, you may need to file an income tax return for 2020, even if you did not have a filing requirement, to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit.
This will allow you to update your banking information directly with the IRS as well as get credit for any stimulus payments you should have received but never did.
The amount of the Rebate Recovery Credit is based upon your actual 2020 income tax return you file. Therefore, if you meet the criteria for the credit, you will receive it when you prepare your 2020 income tax return. The credit is intended to give those who should have received a stimulus payment but never did a tax credit on their tax returns. Any excess credit is then refunded to you if there is an overpayment on your tax return. There will be a similar credit when filing your 2021 income tax return for any stimulus payments you should have received in 2021 but did not get.
Please see the attached link for more information on who can claim the credit.

Me as well!
Me too . It's saying changes was made to my refund and it went from $1800.00 to 0.00 . Smh and I been got approved and been waiting on my check since may 17th . Like this is crazy . They sent me a letter and said to call a number to get another check issued but I'm getting the run around . Anybody know what I can do ?
@Workaholic_89 Your refund is not "approved" when you e-file it. It can be "accepted" for processing but approval of your refund is a much later step. It sounds like the IRS did not approve your refund.

We cannot see your tax return, nor does TurboTax get copies of any letters or information sent to you by the IRS after you file your tax return. When you say ""they" sent you a letter---do you mean the IRS sent a letter? Call the number on the letter to sort it out.
If you are having trouble understanding the letter:
TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support. At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support". Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter. Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.
