Where’s my federal refund?

I submitted my taxes on 4/2/22.  IRS says refund is still being processed.  How can I learn why the delay/holdup in receiving refund.  Could it be because it is a sizable refund?  But my state taxes have been paid from the refund amount.  Also Turbo is to be paid from return, which hasn't happened.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

We filed five months ago on February 10th, it was accepted by the IRS and has been shown as processing ever since. Exactly how long under law can the IRS take to process a refund?

The IRS can take as long as it wants, but must pay you interest after a certain point.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

I filled my taxes since February 2nd and IRS website is telling me my taxes can’t be found after turbo tax state’s my refund was accepted by IRS. How can I get answers?

Sometimes people get confused by the “summary” given by TurboTax and use the wrong amount for the federal refund.  Make sure you are only using the federal refund amount, and not an amount that combined your federal and state refunds.  

Your federal refund amount is on line 35a of your Form 1040
