Where is my 2019 Federal return? JL

Turbotax says it was sent and received by IRS.
IRS says they didn't get it.

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

Sign onto your TurboTax online account and the status of the federal tax return will be displayed - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

If the status of the federal return is Accepted, the federal return was received by the IRS.

On the IRS website for the status of a federal tax refund you must enter exactly what was filed on your federal tax return.  The Social Security number, the Filing Status and the whole dollar amount of the federal tax refund.  Do NOT enter the combined federal and state tax refund - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

If you have federal taxes owed and NOT a federal tax refund, there is no website for the status of your tax return.

Verify your entries on the IRS website by looking at your federal tax return -

To access your current year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on 2019 and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

I do my tax returns with turbo tax every year. I received my 2019 state tax return , but not my federal tax return for 2019. The IRS says that they don't have it.

The IRS received your 2019 federal tax return.  You would not have received a 2019 state tax refund if the IRS did not receive the federal return.  The state tax return could not have been filed if the IRS had not received and Accepted the federal tax return.

The IRS has been taking a very long time to process 2019 tax returns and tax refund due to the pandemic and limited staffing.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Or you can contact your local IRS office. See this IRS website for local IRS offices - http://www.irs.gov/uac/Contact-Your-Local-IRS-Office-1 or call 1-844-545-5640 to set up an appointment
Or you may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area. See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate
