For tax year 2024 the amend a return link will not be available until your tax return has been accepted by the IRS
You will have to wait for the IRS to either Accept or Reject your filed federal tax return.
If the return is rejected you can make the necessary changes and e-file again.
If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

I want to amend my YR2022 tax return. Also, I had no success with a different browser.

Was the 2022 tax return ever filed? What is the status of the federal and state tax returns for 2022 when you access Your tax returns & documents
My 2022 tax return was accepted by TurboTax online 04/09/2023
Btw, I successfully amended my YR2023 tax return. The "amend using TurboTax online" worked in that case. As you know I have about 2.5 months to complete the 2022 tax year amendment.

You can amend a 2022 tax return with a tax refund at any time on or before April 15, 2026.
Ok, thanks. I hope the link for amending tax returns prior to 2023 is functioning in the near future, otherwise it will be necessary for me to check periodically.
We've been told that the Amend button will be fixed by the end of the week.
